The Publicity committee was created in Spring of 2000 to promote the Student Center Programs Council as a whole using print publicity, events, and other means in and effort to create a united image for the organization. The name was changed to "Public Relations" in 2002 to reflect the broad mission of the committee. The committee has endeavored to promote the Student Center Programs Council logo with contests such as the "Have You Seen this Logo?" contest in 2003 and pushing the logo with various logo-branded give-a-ways. To project the Student Center Programs Council and its activities into the community, the Public Relations committee has handed out thousands of Freezy Pops with flyers about upcoming Student Center Programs Council events to students on Skiles walkway, hosted a make-your-own stress ball event where students could make stress balls that, of course, had the Student Center Programs Council logo printed on them, and other events. Publicity for specific Programs Board events such as Take a Prof to Lunch and Midnight Breakfast is also commonly done by the Public Relations Committee.
